Cat Coffee Cup Free Pattern

Details: 

  • Pattern uses worsted weight yarn(Medium size 4)
  • Pattern uses size 2.5mm hook
  • Pattern starts with a magic ring and works into the ring.
  • Instructions between asterisks should be put in one stitch.
  • The parentheses() at the end of the row indicate the stitch count at the end of the row

Materials: 

  • 2.5 mm hook
  • Worsted weight yarn in 3 colors(color for cup(A), brown for coffee/tea(B) and color for cat(C))
  • Fiberfill for stuffing
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends
  • 6mm Safety eyes
  • Safety Eye Tool
  • Stitch markers for marking row
from top left(stitch markers, row counter, plastic tapestry needle, snips, 2.5mm crochet hook)

Fiberfill

White, brown and pink(or any color you want)


Abbreviations: 

  • Sc: single crochet
  • dec: 2 single crochets together in the back loop
  • Inc: 2 sc in the same stitch
  • BLO: Make stitch into the back loop of the stitch below it.

Coffee Cup Cat Pattern 

Cup: 

  • With coffee cup color(A)
  • Row 1: 8sc in magic ring. Do not join with slst. (8)

  • Magic ring

  • Row 2: 1 sc, then add stitch marker into the stitch you just made. 1 sc in same stitch and then Inc in each stitch around till you reach stitch marker. Again, do not join, but continue in a spiral for next row.(16)

  • Row 3: Take out stitch marker then make 1sc in that stitch. Add stitch marker back into the stitch you just made. 1 more sc in same stitch, 1sc in NEXT stitch then, (Inc, sc) 7 times around until you reach the stitch marker. But before adding the last sc at the 7th repeat, do a sc in BOTH LOOPS instead of BLO. Slst to stitch with the stitch marker.(24)
  • Row 4: Sc in BLO around(24)
  • BLO sc all around

    Sc in both loops on the last stitch

  • Now, like in rows 1 and 2, we will NOT be joining with a sl st at the beginning of rows 5-9
  • Row 5-9: Sc in every stitch around and at the end of row 9.(24)
  • Do not Fasten off yet, you will use the same color for the handle.

Handle:

  • Ignore the finished top of the cat on the pictures with the pink-bottomed cat plush
  • Slst into the FRONT LOOP of the next stitch and Ch 6 
  • FLO sc


  • Ch 6


  • Slst to the exposed loop on the BOTTOM of the cup directly below the previous slst made on the top.
Slst to the exposed bottom loop

  • Slip stitch into the next st to the left.
  • Turn project and do 10 sc AROUND the ch 6.
  • 10 sc around the chain

  • Slip stitch to one of the exposed stitch in the top next to the first slst. and fasten off. Weave in ends.

Coffee Layer: 

  • With color(B)
  • For row 10, you will NOT need a stitch marker because there is only one row for the brown color(B)
  • Row 10: slip stitch brown yarn into the back loop of any stitch of the last row, ch 1. In BLO, (sc,dec) around(16)

  • Slst into the Back loop

  • Fasten off and weave in ends.

Cat Head: 

  • Slip stitch into any stitch with cat color(C)
  • Row 11: ch 1 and do a sc in BLO in the same stitch you joined the yarn into. In BLO, (dec, sc) around(12)
  • Row 12: sc around(12)

  • Row 13: * sc,hdc,sc* in first st, 5sc, repeat from * to * once more(16)

  • sc,hdc,sc in same stitch

    Fasten off Cat Color

Finishing:

  • Add eyes 3 stitches apart between the 1st and second row of the cat's head.


  • Fasten off cat-color(C) yarn and stuff with fiberfill.
  • Sew the top of the head together and weave in the ends.

  • Finished Cat!
