Zippered Boxed Pouches

 Zippered Boxed Pouches

Aside from crocheting, I also enjoy sewing. One of my favorite things to make of late are zipper pouches. I really like making zipper pouches. Although I have sewn dresses and some skirts, I really like the functionality and practicality of making zipper pouches. They are always useful for storing things and for keeping things together if you are packing for a trip. I learned how to make some simple ones about two years ago, but I just recently tried this version after seeing them on Monica's Collective's YouTube channel.

She quilted the outside layer of cotton with batting. The quilting stitches added a nice texture and structure to the pouches. Although I didn't quilt the ones in the pictures, I have tried it and I love it. It just takes a little longer.
The pouches are fairly large and they can fit a good amount of things in them.

Once I realized how easy it was to make them, I wanted to make a bunch in different colors so I can use them as gifts. I also want to use up some of my fabric scraps. I love making beautiful things. These three, I sent as a gift to one of my friends and she said that her sisters really liked them. And one of the previous post I made a cow print version for another gift. I love how versatile they are.

In the future, I think I might make some quilted ones to sell at my table at the coffee shop. After using up a lot of scrap fabric for gift pouches, I think it would be cool to get coffee and cat-themed fabric for these pouches. Especially with the quilting, I think selling them for around $18-20 would be a good price.
