Amigurumi Haul: Cat, Dinosaur, Cow, and Octopus

Cat 

Very nice cat

I really like cats. Ever since I started using Etsy, I'd been eyeing various cat patterns to make. After making few more difficult patterns, I stumbled across this simple one by aqcrochets on Etsy that is seamless and no-sew. I loved how I could just start from the bottom and finish at the top without doing much but adding a face. I think the really nice thing about making cats is that you only need to do is add a nose, whiskers, and safety eyes. I love how the face comes together so easily and quickly. I made 2 variations, a white version, and a sunflower themed one. I gave the grey one away as a gift for a friend and she loved it.

Dinosaur 

I'd never made anything like this before, so it was a nice change. This pattern is free on instagram by @studiophoebe22 and I enjoyed making it. It's simple to make and the legs and arms are incorporated with bobble stitches. The hardest thing in this pattern was trusting the process. Also, I'm not sure if it was me or not, but the belly patch, which was made with colorwork crochet, turned out off-center. I'm not bothered by it, but it's what it is. I used 6mm eyes as well.

Sunflower Cow

This cow was a good project. One of my friends sent me the pattern to this a while ago and I meant to make it earlier, but I never made the time to. The pattern was pretty good, but it insisted that you keep the amigurumi inside out. In most projects, there is a wrong and right side of crochet, but in the pattern, they kept each piece inside out. If you are aware of that, then you can just turn them right-side out in the process. Personally, I like the right side of crochet, so I slightly modified the way I did it. 

The pattern did not permit me to sell the cow, which I didn't mind, so I just gave it to my friend. It would've been over 50 dollars if I'd sold it anyway. It took about 5-6 hours to do and I did it in two days. It was the only project I did over that weekend. I enjoyed making it. I tried to make it just like the pattern except for the sunflower buttons and the color of the overalls. 

Octopus

This is something that I'd seem a little bit, but I've always wanted to make it. I wanted to use the chunky velvet yarn which most people use, but I didn't have it, so I had to just use what I had. Because it was my first time making(and probably only time I would make it anytime soon), I just found a free pattern by Rose and Lily Crochet and made it with size 4 medium yarn. I meant to make the purple side as an "indifferent" face, but he still looks like he's smiling.
