The Common People Hat
I'm not usually a fan of traditional crochet ribbed hats, but once I came up on this one, I knew I had to make it. This is the "Common People" hat by Martin Up North, a fellow crochet blogger, although their tagline says "This is not a Crochet Blog" in Arial font, lol.
I used Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" in the color affectionately named, "Blossomopolis". I also used a 5mm hook. I love this color so much. I had some left over after making it, so I gave it to a friend who was collecting yarn scraps for a blanket she's making. She really liked the colors as well.
I did not follow the pattern exactly because I had decided to use Weight 4 yarn instead of the weight 2 that the pattern is written with. I just took out some rows to make it fit the larger hook and yarn I was using.
I think this is the most beautiful hat I've ever made. I am keeping it and wearing it myself this fall and winter. I cannot wait.
